ESG has developed a number of innovative solutions over the years to enable vehicles with incompatible couplers to mate together using adapter devices. This enable vehicles to be rescued when stranded on the network, quickly and easily, and also facilitates movement of new EMU/DMU stock using locomotives. Adapter couplers are designed to be mobile, compact, easy to fit, but strong enough to safely transmit the required braking and traction forces.
